Kennedy said OLLI’s volunteer instructors - many of them OLLI members, though some Furman faculty members also teach classes - have learned how to teach on Zoom and are honing their virtual teaching skills to include sharing screens, running polls, managing breakout rooms and more. The program became OLLI in 2008 when the university received the first in a series of grants from the Bernard Osher Foundation. The semester’s 65 classes - ranging from Latin, yoga, photography, fiction writing, religion, psychology and the history of mathematics - will all be held on Zoom, said OLLI Director Nancy Kennedy.
